Blood and Iron
An Alternative History Project about WW2
Blood and Iron is an alternate history project exploring what might have happened if Germany had won World War II. In this scenario, Operation Sea Lion—the German invasion of Britain—was launched shortly after the fall of France. While this unfolded, the United States was deeply engaged in its war with Japan, focusing primarily on the Pacific theater and delaying significant involvement in Europe. By the time the U.S. attempted to intervene, the fall of the United Kingdom was already imminent, and its efforts had little impact.
Meanwhile, the Soviet Union, now led by a Communist Party congress following Stalin’s assassination, launched a surprise offensive against the Axis. With Axis forces tied down in Britain, the Red Army made early gains across Prussia, Romania, and Slovakia. However, they were unprepared for the scale of the conflict. Once Britain surrendered in 1943, the full might of Germany and its allies was redirected eastward. In a massive counteroffensive, Axis forces pushed deep into Soviet territory, eventually reaching Stalingrad and dismantling the Soviet government.
By 1946, Europe stands divided. A tense Cold War has begun between the victorious German Reich and the United States, each vying for global influence in a new and uncertain world order.
